High Pressure Sealing

Vessels and installations subject to high external pressure, like submarines and oil platform legs, are often equipped with transits specially designed to be much tougher than the standard versions. Several types of high-pressure seal are available as presented below, and they are usually developed in close collaboration with customers.

RGPH

The RGPH High Pressure Seal is for use in areas where extreme pressure tightness is required, i.e. the legs of offshore oil and gas platforms, subsea tie backs or between compartments in submarines.  Our range of RGPH’s can be tested up to 100 Bar and are approved for up to 40 Bar installations, they can also be tested after installation via ports on the housing and a semipermeable membrane (optional) within the seal.

The RGPH system is available in six sizes designated based on the seal diameter (mm), RGPH-50, 70, 100, 125, 150 and 200.

RGPM

The RGPM pressure seal is used when running cables and pipes through a section under or close to water, and to form a water-sealed unit with the section of almost unlimited designations of numbers and dimensions of cables and pipes. Approved for a continuous pressure up to 15 bar.

The RGPM system is available in diameters 50 to 200mm for 15 bar pressure and 25 to 675mm for 3.3 bar pressure.

LSJ

The LSJ (Longitudinal Sealing Joint) is used to run an electrical cable through a tank/pipe between two pressure-tight sections and to form a pressure-tight unit with the tank/pipe (RGPH seal) against incoming overpressure media through the cable if it has been damaged or cut in the pressure-tight sections. The test pressure is 90 bar.

PHP

The PHP l(Pressure Hull Penetrator) is used to run an electrical cable through a pressure hull and to form a pressure-tight unit with the pressure hull against overpressure media through the cable if the cable on the high-pressure side has been damaged or cut. The test pressure is 90 bar.

Encapsulation of Sensors and Connectors

The encapsulation of inductive sensors and connectors are used to ensure a watertight seal. It is a custom designed product that is tested and inspected in accordance to specifications.
